Jasper Vs Rrod - 3 Years Later

I've heard of them failing, but I've never personally seen one. I have 5 Jaspers myself, and have several friends with Jaspers, and none of them have ever failed in many thousands of hours of use.

I've got a jasper/kronos (no heat pipe)

She's about 2 and a half years old, no issues so far. I've seen/used every other board revision, and I just don't see jaspers failing any time soon. They put out so much less heat... in addition to stronger solder (supposedly).

Though, in my opinion, BGA chips won't EVER be as reliable as old school SMT or actual SOCKETS. I feel that jaspers are solid enough to last longer than 5 years
