it draws power from the motherboard.  seems that would be pretty detectable by the bios.

I've heard of people using it online and not being banned, but like you said its not officially online "safe". Its designed to act as if it were the dvd drive in every way possible. The device runs a stripped down version of Linux so it has the ability to be pretty smart when emulating the dvd drive.

Bottom line, you won't get banned...at least not yet. It draws power from the motherboard, yes, but I don't think that alone can get you banned. People add extra fans and LEDs and that sort of thing all the time and play online.

I use mine online daily now for over 2 months and no bans.
The bottom line is this is all a risk game. You can get banned using any hacks PERIOD!. If you are worried about getting banned then don't mod at all. You have to always expect to get banned playing this game with MS. Some people want the security blanket and there really isn't any. There's been several bans in the past using modified FW and yet people still use it knowing these risks. I don't worry about it I just keep playing till bans come and if they do I have all my originals anyways wink.gif
