OK, I've been putting off getting one of the xk3ys until I heard more reviews. For some reason, info is hard to come by on this device.

The replies in this thread seem to indicate that all is well with the newest dash.

Here is my question:

Are there any certain games or types of games that the xK3y cannot handle? I use a wode for the wii and it is great, no issues whatsoever.......I just want to make sure the xk3y doesn't have issues that I'm not aware of.

By the way, I'm not interested in Live info, as the xk3y wont be connected to live at all.......I have a second 360 for that purpose.

Appreciate any info you can give......have a good day!!

i own the xkey and im not in love with it.its not sturdily built, and the devs arent forthcoming in admitting that the xkey isnt compatible in a lot of phat consoles.for example i own a benq manufactured in 10/2007 and xkey resets the system every 45 minutes.in order to use my xkey i had to buy a different system and theres a 30 page thread on xkey forums and the devs wont even comment on the issue.now once installed in my other system it works fine both online and off

Totally agree. I have bought a slim manufacture date 03-2011 and it gets reset every 15 minutes due to the key installed.

In my opinion this device is not yet ready to be distributed.

You should ask for a refund. It works great for me and my family. Got three running just fine but they are all on nearly the same generation xboxes. 1 lite on fat, 1 9504 and 1 0272. I'm glad they released it. Some peeps were waiting for an eternity! I was thankful I got it 5 days after I ordered. They do seem to be neglecting certain boxes though but for how well they do work with the right xboxes I think it's worth the swap out of boxes IMHO. Or just wait for Cfw if it's not viable to swap. Should be coming out "soon".

Was it a problem with the xkey.cfg file not being present on the USB device during the update?

brother i completely agree.and its a coward move by the devs to not acknowledge the reset issue.

The xkey is great. updating is super easy. every game seems to work except need for speed : hot pursuit. i had to reformat the card but works fine with a benq drive on a phat that orginally had a slim although after the update that flashes the dvd drive for xgd3 when i dump the spoofed benq fw it doesnt show it as spoofed. either way in my phat benq no problems and my slim works fine as well. the devs dont comment on the forums because it is an unofficial site. if you have problems verifying your xkey to get downloads perhaps it was typed wrong. i had to enter mine 3 times before i noticed i was entering it wrong.
also the dumping of fw has been removed from the site as a feature and being you have to open the console anyways its not a big deal. if you cant figuare out how to dump the fw then you probably wont be able to properly setup the device

its a shame they removed that feature, would have thought they would sell alot more if u could just make it plug n play. ive also had to reflash cards, resolder pcb's, buy new cables, certain games dont seem to like certain console(in my case nfs therun, and batman ac when its not on a flash drv) and yet i still love it!

in short its an awsome idea wrapped in a crapy product... personally i think id pay your local mod guy 40 bucks to install this, so if u have any dramas you dont waste a week of ur life getting ur head around it.

Just wanted to add an experience here ...

I got my xkey yesterday... Because i have read this topic where someone was complaining it didnt work properly on a benq xbox i decided to test it out in an old Benq xbox ... I wouldnt mind if this box gets banned either, it was a RROD xbox (fixed now) i got as a gift...

Build it into the xbox without problems and tested it out for several hours without any problem. (after upgrading to firmware 1.11) ...

Maybe the older firmware had some problems with some drives? 1.11 is working great for me...

im the guy who complained about the benq,i tried it with 1.11 firmware and it still resets.1.11 does nuthing for it broskie.

Everyone is not or doesn't feel capable to do it by themselves and don't want to have it done by someone but still be able to do things by themselves and don't have 2 or 3 extra xbox in case they F up ... Also they want to play live (and me too)...

i think people use this as you can still go online. is it safe? who knows. even people with flashed drives have been caught and banned. its always a risk. i like updating via usb and not reflashing a drive all the time. plus saves money and time burning discs. i have a new slim thats not moddable and would love to make that one a glitch but gotta wait.

as for the build quality.eh. the micro usb port shouldnt be as cheap as it is. small screen dont matter to me beingg that you are right there. i just wish they would move the sata ports around. i find that a little annoying to put together in a slim.
