Total Mess!
« on: December 03, 2011, 08:07:00 AM »

Damn...that is a serious mess indeed. This would be bitch to fix but I don't think its impossible. The only thing I could think of is hot air station to remove all that excess solder but it can be dangerous for those nearby components. So maybe a low wattage soldering Ion..Im not entirely sure to be honest. Hopefully you get some more suggestions from people..

Step 1 - Clean up the mess, remove loose components, clean up any stray solder with de-solder braid and remove any flux residue with IPA.

Step 2 - Re-tin all the pads carefully.

Step 3 - Buy a cheap, broken Jasper board on eBay (seen them for £5 in the UK, motherboard only)

Step 4 - Using HOT AIR (not your conventional £10 iron from Maplins/Radio Shack/eBay) transplant the relevant components from the dead boards you bought off eBay to your motherboard.

If done correctly then you can make it look 100% brand new, if not done correctly, you will do perminant damage.

Actually....upon closer inspection you have lifted a couple of pads....you may have already done perminant damage!
