My Xbox Keeps Freezing On The Dashboard

Error E79 is a hard drive error or can be southbridge related and error E71 is dashboard/NAND related but it too can also be southbridge related.

First and easiest thing to try is a new hard drive. Borrow a friends one for a couple of days if you can just for testing. If it keeps happening then time to reflow or reball the southbridge.

If it's JTAGed then also check all the wiring as this can also causes these errors, however if you were playing one LIVE then I would assume it's not JTAGed.

i took out my hdd and tried playing mw3 again and i was in the middle of a load to screen then i got the same disk unreadable message from the first time then it froze while going back to the dashboard.

Try to install the  whole MW3 disc on the HDD. does it work?
