I had to stop Halo half way through, because of motion sickness. When will game developers learn that first-person perspective games can induce motion sickness?! Third-person perspective games like Splinter Cell, MechAssault, Metal Arms, etc., do not induce motion sickness, but third-person perspective games like Halo, Rainbow Six 3, Morrowind, etc., can induce motion sickness in some people. Hitman Contracts gives you an option to choose/select the perspective, so why can't other games give you an option to choose the perspective?! Splinter Cell 1 and 2 were not "long" games, although they were very good and had replay value. Sports games are unfair comparisons, because you can always play another game with your friend, so they don't "wear" out. I'm actually in the middle of playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and from what I hear, it has great replay value, because you can replay the game in diffirent characters. If I were the President of United States, I would propose an amendment to the Constitution to require all games to have perspective select feature. |
I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to getting motion sickness with games (especially FPS games), but thank the almighty Halo didn't give me motion sickness (unless I played it for a rediculously long time in hot weather). But I also get motion sickness in alot of 3rd person games as well, such as Psi-Ops, Legacy of Kain series, Hitman series, Spiderman, etc....
