E07 / 0013 2rlod Error
« on: November 09, 2011, 01:26:00 PM »

It occurred to me that it shuts down at a point where the system would be using a lot of RAM (loading a map).  Could adding a thermal pad to the RAM chips, particularly the ones under the GPU heatsink, potentially fix this?

update: Tried the penny trick, and it worked for a while, but I'm getting the 0013 error again.  The RAM chip not under the heat sink or heat pipe gets really hot.  I think I'm going to try putting heatsinks on.  Anyone know if these will fit?

I'd prefer to get them on both chips not under the heatsink, but there isn't a lot of space for the one under the heat pipe.

Obviously, your problem is cold solder on RAM. Never use penny tricks. Also the heatsinks will not resolve the issue. You need to reflow the RAM chips and then when it works, put heatsink over , just as pre-caution to avoid future overheating issues.
