xk3y Firmware v1.04 beta: isoMenu, fixes, and more! *Update*
« on: October 13, 2011, 11:53:00 PM »

The IsoMenu Feature is probably more or less and invitation for a ban. (easily detactable) They sayed they are trying to make this thing as XBL Safe as possible - so i hope this feature can be turned off.

Btw: I received my X360Key today and will do some extensive testing over the weekend smile.gif

This pearl of knowledge based on what?

I could burn a mixed media disk (same format as ones used by the ODEs) and stick it in a legit xbox.

Ban worthy? lol

basically yeah. its a feature that everyone has been asking for on xkey and yes there is an option to turn it off and just use the xkey screen to select your game.

with this feature added to the xkey, i think its better than wasabi now. with wasabi, you have to choose if you want to buy it for a phat or slim. xkey works with both

now that people finally have these....could anyone answer this for me please?

As I presume it won't take a jtag extracted folder, as it needs to be in ISO format.  Would it work if you converted the extracted files back to ISO format?  Naturally these isos would be a lot smaller, as missing the padding etc........or is all the padding, SS etc needed for it to work?

Obviously if they would play, it would be easy detected by Live etc, but I dont intend to go to live, and would be so much easier to mass convert all my games on the jtag drive to ISO files, rather than hours doing discs again

Are you in Sydney?... if you are, convert 1 of your games and give it to me and I will test it for you.

nobody knows anything about the bans so it as in every other piece of sage advice is based around logical thought.

You should not play games early even tho plenty of users get their retail disks delivered earlier or a store breaks the street date.

If and we have to assume Microsoft know about these devices this mixed media disk containing nothing but "video" files of xbox 360 games in a certain format (as they can query the disk and files behind the scene I am sure), is akin to sticking a every game into your 360 before street date mysteriously on the exact same date that there is an leaked version online and never before, standing clear above the parapet and screaming loud "Microsoft Enforcement team, please go through my logs and check my system with a fine tooth comb, as I am the proverbial sore thumb".

Now the disk itself may not be an insta ban item depending on what proof the team need, but I would bet its a pretty simple identifier to get flagged for review by the team, and given it will be inserted between each and every game you play at lightning speed the probability of it being a real disk with video content that you never watch and they cannot read correctly via live checks means you really are kicking the hornets nest, so don't complain when you get stung.

They just completely Copy ideas from Wasabi360!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flatery.

I own a Xk3y and honestly I was going to get a wasabi for someone in my family beccause he isn't all to technical when it comes to these types of devices.

Showing him how simple it is to choose a game from the dashboard is a lot easier then explaining how to navigate the menu of the xk3y. Now that they incorporated this feature he doesn't need to worry about learning the menus. Just pick a game and go.

I wish they would incorporate the disk rip feature someday cause I hate having to go over to his place every weekend just to rerip whatever he bought that week.

They are both clones that rely on firmware hacked by another to work - does it really matter if they crib the best ideas off each other so everyone wins?

Know what your talking about before posting. Thanks

Who cares? As a consumer I care about the quality of the product, features and ongoing support. Who came up with a feature first doesn't matter to me at all.
