Matrix Glitcher Speed Test and NAND Flasher

i think its common sense that there is only so much you can do using these boards to increase boot time! using diffent caps 220 270.. a only real increase will be a new jed file for the glitch for all boards

im using a cpld from ebay with a 220pf cap 1st boot was instant but since then ive had everything from 5secs to 5mins im going to give a 270pf a try but im hoping for a jed file with increased boot time from 25%

like others have said its easy to film a few boots then post a video of the fasted so ill stick to what i have...

one thing i would like to know is what the j2c3.2 UART point is used for

wow really? Why should I buy this if I have to program it myself. I should just buy all the parts if I'm going to do that. Asked the guy in the video and he said the user has to program it.

As there are two types of jed files for fat and slim, so the chip must be programmed just before installation.
all other chips must be the same.

Bulding a Xilinx program cable is not hard. The diagram is in the released tutorial.

Using a PIC - interesting.  Would love to see the schematic for it.

the nand flasher uses a PIC - there are lots of schematics for it. The glitch mod doesnt.

You think the others are going to be like that too? I hope not....a USB Jtag cable goes for 45$....I guess I could build or buy the lpt one but not that many people have access to a lpt port. Looks like Im reviving my old computer. It gives me something to do while my slim is in transit.

decisions decisions! so many to chose from

x-s should make an RGH and ODD chart for comparisons like they did with modchips way back when

I'm expecting they likely will, but allot of these haven't even hit the chain yet for live fire testing. I expect someone will likely make one in the next month or so. Wish these ODD hacks weren't averaging $100.

Well, unless a chip has dual banks, one to glitch the fat and other to glitch the slim, otherwise the end users have to program the chip before installation using the specific jed file.

USB jtag cable is to read /write nand on the xbox not glitch chip. For the glitch chip you need xilinx program cable which is much easier to build. Anyone who can't build that cable is not capable of soldering the glitch chip anyway.

Our videos with the matrix glitcher:

Tested with a different Jasper console:

You can see, the successful booting varies between the two.

Boot times:

Jasper 1:
3 Sec
8 Sec
4 Sec
16 Sec
10 Sec
31 Sec
3 Sec

Jasper 2:
40 Sec
22 Sec
1 Minute and 5 Seconds
2 minutes and 7 Seconds
30 Sec

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

So that would indicate consistently longer booting times on one console compared to the other, that is what you are saying?!

Was there anything obvious between the 2 consoles that would indicate why? Different manufacture dates, etc.

You have to solder a bridge on the chip for Fat or Slim mode, so I guess both jed files are on the chip.

Do you sell the device to program it? I'd like to buy one if you do. I ordered a Xilinx Parallel CPLD Programming Cable III PC3 XC2C64A off ebay but its coming from china and taking forever.

The Xilinx Jtag cable is a USB/LPT Jtag programming cable. Ill give you a link if you don't believe me. And the cable I was talking about is the LPT version of the Jtag cable. The thing you are thinking about that reads and writes the nand is just a simple LPT nand flasher/reader.

You need a USB Jtag programming cable
Jtag USB cable

or you can get the LPT version
Jtag LPT cable

both of those can be used to program the matrix glitcher, but see my problem is that I dont have a readily available LPT port so its either not buy this and wait or go with the 45$ cable. The USB Jtag cable is WAYYYY too hard to make at least at my experience.

if you dont believe that...then look at the matrix glitcher. See the 4 pins on the side? now look at the Jtag programming cables. They both have the same pins, VCC, TDI, TMS, etc.
