Some peeps on XBH have been talking about storing glitch timing attack successes so that when you next reboot, the last successful glitch timing is used in the belief it will work again  BUT 1st time this time.  As opposed to each new boot, arbitrarily retrying until successful glitch timed attack.

Maybe this is what TX are proposing to do with there solution, i.e. store glitch success timings...hence claims for quicker glitch success rate?  Obviously quicker the glicth success the quicker you boot..to xell or wahtever (hasn't BestPig put together a freebot image with glitch attack patch - haven't bothered to look in to whether upon glitch you then boot to dash).

So with this chip you have basicly the same thing as a Jtaged xbox? Is there a newbie FAQ about jtags somewhere?  smile.gif

Entertaining thread, ill appriciate any successfull boot since my Jtag kicked the bucket and that's the only thing that matters to me really.

I am no expert and don't claim to be but I have nothing better to do this morning than through my thoughts in the mix. As mentioned there are two factors hardware and software.

Is been said "It requires precise and fast hardware to be able to send the reset pulse". So cheep poorly made boards with fluctuating voltages and delayed pulses mixed with an amateur poorly soldered install might miss the timing a couple of times before hitting it.
If TX are using what they claim to be a better chip don't knock them for it! Yes they wanna make some money out of it and get the upper hand in the market but if it gets me a more stable and reliable product then super duper!

It has also been said a "stable voltage" makes a big difference and the caps on V3 look chunky and capable of stableising the voltage well during boot.

A good feature for me is the two connectors on there and the switch (slim/phat) which would be handy for people like me connecting and disconnecting from lots of old boards. Ill be using my first board to regain lost keys from boards I have collected from ebay cons. Some of the clones require you solder pads on the board or connect your own switches to switch between sad.gif

If I really did have to put some money down on a better board currently TX have my vote only based on apparent functionality, asumed reliability, slim/phat adaptability and a bit of good old reputation.

Either way stick to the two big vendors if you want reliable support and potential updates.

But that's just my 2 pence!  smile.gif

I like so many here am just happy that someone has found a way through the 360's armour. With the increasing prices of  jtag-able boxes due to supply and demand, this is welcome to everyone like me who has several 360's that are all beyond current exploits, my only Jtag box is currently in need of a reball due to RROD, so as far as I am concerned this glitch hack is a good thing if it leads to  custom dash exploits or another more technical hack.

Who cares if it takes 5 mins to boot, the point is its hacked.

My Halo 3 360 takes two attempts to boot from cold every-time due to partial RROD as it needs to be warm to work, but I still use it, so a possible 2 min boot time is no problem to me.

Anyone remember when the xbox got hacked and there was next to no software to use apart from pirate games disk copies, well look who far that scene went. There are still developments going on now, The 360 scene just needs to gather speed, and this is exactly the sort of can of Redbull it needed.
