Due to the new reset glitch hack announced this weekend by GliGli and Tiros, we are happy to announce a new add-on for the NAND-X Kit that is based on the Xilinx CoolRunner-II CPLD.

This simple addon has been designed to work out of the box with the Zephyr, Jasper and Trinity(Slim) motherboards - and can also be updated for any future code changes / motherboard revisions.

Simply connect the included Phat or Slim adapter to the Xecuter CoolRunner and away you go.

Easily dump your nand with the Xecuter NAND-X and then install the Xecuter CoolRunner to get instant access to homebrew and beyond !

Easy install for anyone who can solder. The Slim is 7 wires and the Phat is 6 wires.

Production has started so you should expect these to be in stores within the next couple of weeks. The price will be no more than $20 !

- Many thanks to GliGli, Tiros and Coz for their efforts in opening up a new chapter of homebrew for the scene.

It'll be great if this is a re-useable add-on. Leave it to TX.

That won't be possible, the hack requires some hardware be present at boot time to glitch the CPU. This is a one-per-box solution.

Would it be best to wait on a possible bundle of Nand-X & CoolRunner for my Slim?

well, you will need either the NAND-X or some other comparable hardware to read & flash the NAND, so if you don't have anything like that then yes, you should just get both together...

Temporarily, sure. But in the long run, you are not going to want to leave your nand device in the xbox. I'd wait until a more dedicated solution comes along and hopefully more speedy in executing the reset. Realize you have to have BOTH devices in the xbox to run, not just the component to run the reset glitch.

How have you come to that conclusion? It´s like saying you need to leave the flasher in after doing a JTAG 360....

The flasher is needed for:

1: Dumping the nand
2: Writing the patched *.ecc to the nand

Once written you do not need it anymore.

No more, no less

The coolrunner2 CPLD needs to stay in as it is the trigger of the glitch, and that wont change.

Think xbox1; Modchip in = unsigned code and here it is the coolrunner2 CPLD = unsinged code.

Is there any harm leaving the NAND-X in after a successful flash?  When I get this done, I'll be getting someone skilled to do the soldering as my ability in that field is zero.  If it has to be removed, I would have to get the fitter to remove it again so I'm hoping it can stay in...

You can leave the wires inside the xbox. No harm of that. Just remove the NAND-X since it uses connectors. You can buy extra wires and connectors if you want to use the same NAND-X for several Xboxes.

There are no rebooters available yet. This new hack only gives you xell right now. So replacement dashboards (such as freestylesdash) aren't possible yet.

You can leave the connectors for the nand-x inside the system if you want and remove the actual usb flasher but if you need to use your nand-x on another system you'll have to perfrom a wire install instead of using the connectors that need to be soldered in.

I personally never use the connectors because I flash many xbox's with my nand-x and soldering and desoldering those connectors is a pain. I just use the wire install every time..

the main thing im look forward to getting one of these for is I have a few jasper box's I bought from ebay dirt cheap as someone screwed the drives trying the old MRA hack etc, so sure they were useless other than media players etc but using this I can grab their dvd keys and turn them into gaming box's again with new drives (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thanks for the update. I wonder how many versions of this board are going to be in the wild? Everyone seems to be making them. Myself included. Lol
