MY question is this. I have a Liton Drive flash with 1.1 LT+. Currently to use 1.91 I would need to reflash to stock firmware take the latest dash update and then flash to 1.91LT. If I purchased the X360key would I have to still reflash Xbox to stock drive to take the new dashboard or will the ket spoof it for me?

I don't see how it could be detected on live! If it emulating the disc fast enough. With a dedicated Linux os and a whole Bunch of logic chips. I'm sure the only way is if two accounts using the same ripped game were on the same server at once. I realize that people will immediately say Ms didn't know who ripped the game so couldn't ban. For example someone borrows a game from gamefly or bought a used game. That's why its unlikely to be banned on live.

games have no unique identifier, so how could m$ ban anyone for running the same rip?

nonsense.

Just read about the new hack and it looks very promising, it's not for the noobs though as it seem to requite a bunch of new hardware and software to get it to work. Guess xk3y will loose alot of its momentum now, competing with that hack.

Ya I know...Flashing and disks might still be cheaper in some cases though :-)

yes & no.  Its like you said, currently the best noob option is the xk3y, but overtime I expect it to shift to the jtags as noob friendly methods come available...but that is likely many months away...

Except it says this on their site:

If you have a stock drive
a dump must be obtained using available tools (we recommend the Maximus Lizard 360).

So either way, noobs will have to get someone to dump their drive and give them a copy of the dump.
Also some people dont even know what an iso image is, so how are they going to get them and put them on an external hdd.  I think it just opens up other avenues for these people that are "in business".

I'd love to know how live safe this device can be and how will it tackle XGD3 backups?

QUOTE
This is the last e-mail we have received from the X360key team on Thursday, September 1:

"Sorry to keep you waiting for an reply.

Our first batch of pre production samples where sent out to our beta testers, which are in close contact with our engineers. After initial tests we then decided that some small changes had still to be done and so we did a new express production beginning of this week.

This revised boards where once again sent out to our beta testers and tested this week. When they are confirmed then we will start full production shortly after, and then start shipping out to all Pre-order customers.

Hopefully no more delays, we are truly working day and night to get everything ready and start shipping, we even have our own staff supervising at the factory to make sure everything goes forward as planed.

Best regards / Jason
