We are very proud to announce that xK3y is now finally in production. The first stock will be shipped to distributors who placed their orders during our pre-order period by the end of August.

As you may have noticed updates on xK3y progress have been scarce lately. Very late in the testing we noticed that a certain Slim model just did not want to be friends with xK3y. This last month we worked around the clock making sure that everything works flawlessly. There is a good thing that has come out of the delay as well. Software 1.00 has a lot more features than we initially planned for launch.

While the hardware team has been busy testing and fixing the last bugs the software team has made astonishing discoveries, and some unique features that will never be possible with any CFW may be possible in the very near future. (We wont elaborate more on WIP for today but expect more soon!)

no live support still... i don't see the point in this, you can get a JTAG at around the same price only it does a lot more... or just stick to the free soft mod ixtreme LT+ that has live support (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Mmmm you have a point there...BUT most xbox360's can't be jtagged and the cfw mods isn't that safe al the time. A lot of people where banned over the last few years with CFW.

I think it can be a useful addon for most people but first it has to prove itself (The x360 key i mean offcourse).

The Dev has mentioned that the launch firmware will be as safe as the current LT...but the current LT isn't that safe after all. Just becuase MS didn't ban all CFW mods last summer, doesn't mean they won't this summer.

The point on this is USB loading on any machine, Fat, slim.
You can wack it on anyones machine, and they can upgrade through discs or online etc without having to complile dashboard etc. It's a noob friendly ISO loader

You don't see the point of attaching a USB hdd to your slim/Jasper console and play without burning isos!!!!!!

Sure
besides basic installation - is there anything you wanted to see?

Honestly, basic installation and playing games is more than enough. I am not sure, but if Geremia is reading this, he did report some concerns regarding the safety of CFW 1.91, I just want to know if the same thing can be said about this device. Although, I am sure that no one can guarantee the safety on live, and the x3k team did not promise that either.

Jessical Alba's clunge

Haha, sounds like Jay from The Inbetweeners has hacked Oggy's account smile.gif

Will be interesting to see this in action, also interesting to see how heavy-handed Microsoft get over it.

Also, quick question on "detectability"... does the Xbox 360 know how much power it's using on its various voltage rails, thereby giving a clue as to any "foreign device" stealing power from them?

Isnt it USB powered?

USB device's power is within the spec and you can connect what ever you like into your console.

Microsoft couldnt ban you for plugging a device drawing power high (which is within spec) from the open and for free use USB ports.

hmm, can't wait!

Still waiting for T-X to release those software features previously not possible with their X360USB device, as touted back in April release.. Im sure that Xk3y will be better than CFW, and less of a pain to keep up to date - Also sure it will be a bigger target for MS, will never do live safely (not like iX firmwares ever were live-safe anyway), and a solid reason new drive firmwares will release.

The question will be if CFW can keep up on Live, and which team will counter quicker.

Which will mean you wont be able to play any new games as new games will require new dashboard to play them.

I don't think so.  The hard drive will connect to the Xk3y itself via USB, but the Xk3y itself (the internal bit, not the display board) connects to the 360 via the DVD drive's power and SATA cables.

Got mine pre-ordered. Very excited. Just hope MS can't block it in a future dash.
