Do I have to do 1 & 2 or can I choose just one of the solutions? Which is easier? I'm thinking X-Clamp replacement but if theres a free way to do it that would be awesome...

1 is easier however it may not last that long; my xbox lasted 3 months with the xclamp fix. Reflowing the GPU and RAM Re-Melts the solder and properly repairs the joints. Assuming you get a proper reflow, your xbox should last a long time. Heatgun reflows usually do not last as long. Also, of you bake the board to remove flexing it will increase the success of as proper reflow

0102 is fairly easy fix if you get the GPU reflowed properly. The RAMS should NOT be reflowed, the failure is in the GPU BGA.

I would reflow GPU and modify the shroud/Fan to get the GPU running cool. Cooling is the key to a long lasting 360. X-clamps replacements are ****ing garbage!

+1.
Go for a reball they don't cost much these days, just look around for a good price. You could probably haggle for a better price if you send in just your botherboard as it will save them time. The x-clamp "fix" will only make it harder to fix professionally in the future, if it can be fixed at all with this temporary prolongation. Trust me I get consoles reballed on a regular basis and the ones that have had the xclamp fix done are iffy. Heatgunned boards are much, much worse though and most can't be salvaged.
