Very impressed. Looking forward to this being released. For some people this will be a great option. Like OzModchips said, not everyone flashes there own consoles.

They are $104 at Foundmy

also what is the difference between this and the X360USB Pro by Team Xecuter for almost half the cost?

The X360USB is for flashing the dvd drives via USB connection to a computer instead of SATA, not emulating them inside an xbox.

I wonder if the XODE is real and ends up delivering pretty soon since they were bragging half the price of the xKey.

How much is a new 360 going for in US?
Its about $400 AUD here, so the xKey is abot a 1/3 of the console it sits in, which is pretty cheap.

you can buy a new 360 4gb for $200USD, which makes this thing over half the price. it a great concept, but if this cant keep you from gettin banned from live, youll do better buying another system to keep as a backup if you already havent done so.

as we know MS has even banned box's with the 12v fan mod

 No they haven't.

Especially if they start randomly changing ap2.5 keys.  You already have to reburn all the ap2.5 games from 12625 to 13146.  MS can change the ap2.5 challenge response anytime they want.  Tell me how much you're saving when you have 19 copies of COD sitting around.

A 20-pack of verbs costs $20. So far AP2.5 titles have gone from no AP, to table 1, to table 2. Once we have a public way to extract your own DAE tables then it's very possible that they'll change less. Even still, you'd have to be playing the same game through 20 dash updates, which at the rate MS pumps them out, would take about 10 years. There will be more than 10 new COD games within that same timespan, so verbs are still a very viable solution for those who wish to backup their games (especially for those with samsung/hitachi drives).

yeah 2.0 firmware will support it, but the scary thing is trying to figure out how to do the whole extra 1GB of data with a retail burner. Will users need to buy another burner and flash it with CFW? Hopefully it won't be too hard and both solution an co-exist with slagging matches

My  guess is that they \ MS just moved the layer break closer to the edge of the disk and thats where the extra 1GB comes from.

I think x360key is a future for all of us. The only 1 think left to proof.  Be safe on live and then all this FW madess will be ended smile.gif

FW is here to stay, unless this thing becomes extremely easy to use like a PSJB or is cloned en masse by the Chinese resulting in crazily cheap prices, it probably won't take off outside the enthusiasts market.

This is yet another approach at simlpy getting your backups to play.

It's no safer then using LT+ just as LT+ is no safer then the XKey.

They are both detectable.

Given the path that Microsoft seems to be taking IMHO anyway the XKey will be the future proofing implementation.

Regarding detection abilities.

This is different then the exploit on Sony's PS3. This does NOT tie into your USB port. It ties into the sata port of the x360.

To state that this will easily be detected by TXE is just TXE protecting their territory.

All it takes is for microsoft to update their dash with the ability to read a firmware (they can since the dash does do a check prior to writing the drive) and simply check it against the public version of LT+ (given that everyone and their dog have a modded xbox it's not complicated to get ahold of this file).

After that it's lights out.

Ok............

How can the Xkey be detected you ask?

Well that's a bit hard but here's one method you could do it....
Send a sequence of reads from various parts of the disc repeatedly and gauge the response times.

Sector 1, Sector 827,488, Sector 1, Sector 827,488 over and over, say 5 times.

Response times might be like 82ms, 81ms, 82ms, 82ms, 84ms

With a usb device you might get 16ms, 15ms, 16ms, 16ms,  16ms

With a usb device that has cashing you may even get 16ms, 4ms, 4ms, 4ms, 4ms, 4ms

This would be a dead giveaway.

What I do foresee however is TXE simply bashing the living hell out of the product. Then eventually buying them out or buying them onboard and then remarketing it as TXE product that is then endorsed as the best thing since C4's integration of the hardware/software combo's.

TXE if you are reading this. I have a proposition for you.

1. Get these guys on board OR
2. Release the C4E stealth kit

Here's how it works......

You have a device like the X360USB pro that has a slot for a MicroSD slot. (Get in touch with Team Maximus if you need help with adding this slot to your products).

This device will sit in line with the 360 drive. It will hold all the SS files for all the games. Users will still need to burn backup's of their games but rather then patching the iso's with SS data you will patch the ISO's with SS placeholders. These "placeholders" will reference files located on the SS. For example the placeholder could say GOW3 and the file on the sd card would say GOW3SS1.bin GOW3SS2.bin etc.

The Stealthkit device will also house the original firmwares of the dvd drives.

Whenever MS sends a "Read firmware" CDB the stealthkit will return the results of the "ORIGFIRM.BIN" file.
Whenever MS updates the firmware it'll be stored to "NEWFIRM.BIN" on the stealthkit SD card.
Whenever the stealthkit receives the firmware "NEWFIRM.BIN" the stealthkit will trick the X360 into thinking the tray is always open. This will prevent people from running any games and possibly banning their consoles. (this feature can of course be overidden)
The stealth kit will only hold SS files and firmwares. All disc data will still be in physical form on a C4E or original flashed DVD drive. (you guys are the geniuses you can figure out which approach is best)

If Microsoft updates their dash and starts pulling new SS data you're covered since the data is on the SS card.
TXE/C4/TJ/Whoever will release a ABGX style program that will populate the SDcard and check that the contents are the most up to date. If the contents fail it will be updated and traylocks removed. If no updates are available a special file can be placed onboard to allow unprotected use of the kit(such as offline/online) etc.

Microsoft can send all the timing tests they want and kill your laser motors but you will still send the proper response timings.
Microsoft can update their dash all they want it'll just kick out live users until an update is available. If you want to have a pro model you could even make one that ties into the network via wifi and once a console gets banned they can raise a red flag that will eventually populate to all the other devices triggering tray locks etc. When an update is and C4 releases a fix it'll remove tray locks, next time you go on it'll say do you want to update your consoles dash, you hit yes, it goes through the motions and the firmwares on the Stealthkit are updated already and ready to go on as soon as the update finished. All because everything was done while you were asleep. biggrin.gif

Instead of banning by the millions it would only be by the hundreds for pro models and millions for the basic models. LOL

Just a thought. lol

Darkflame those caching times your on about is bollocks, you can install any game to your 360 hdd and this will give faster response times just like an external hdd so they cannot  ban you based on this information alone.

To everybody asking about Live safety.... enough.

When you mod your system, you're taking a risk.  Nothing is foolproof...  FACE IT.  Worried about being banned?   Enjoy your stock system and STFU!!!!
