It should work for any drive that the drive key can be gotten from.

anyone who thinks its plug-and-play doesn't deserve one.

Apparently 139$ RRP (Usd), That seems reasonable, I'm pretty sure the O-S version is still on the way, but for that price it's probably better to just buy one for mos t ppl (not sure what chip(s) they're planning the O-S version on, it might be a while as I think there is only one guy working on it :-)

if the x360key guys could just put together a few more videos showing the x360key in action, loading and running various titles, that would definitely help out the majority of folks (like myself) who are wishing to go ahead and pre-order.  since there are no refunds on pre-orders and they charge your card outright well before the units ship, i would like to validate the performance of the unit.

I'm very interested in pre-ordering one and the additional videos and information would be quite helpful.  other than that, this looks like a great product.

Huge investment for an item that might get bricked in a single dash update.  Im interested but not too optimistic.

exactly. it just seems like an easy ban to me. it seems like if c4eva takes this long for actual drive support to be proper, this thing would be even worse. but you never know

and i agree with above poster... they need to show this thing off a little better. perhaps send out samples to some sites like this one. seems sketchy jsut to take their word for it when they come out of no where like this.

Most products promise everything, and deliver nothing

x360key guys promised nothing much, and are slowly telling everyone whats coming.
More features and suprises to come (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The dissapointing thing is all of the people/companies trying to bash the product - they will be the same people trying to clone the device when it comes out.
It is great that people are sceptical though, they have everything to prove, as long as its not becuase someone said "ohh we are going to do the same thing cheaper" or "something better is coming!" without any proof.

We will have a sample when one is ready, closer to release.

Morning Call: They have come out of no where for the 360 scene, but they have been around in some form for over 10 years. Their Wii mod, the wiikey 1, was 1 of the original mods for the consnole and was the ONLY modchip updated to support NSMB when it came out, 3 years after the device come out. They care about their name. The lead developer was the lead dev on the WODE. I don't think anyone has anything nasty to say about the WODE software, everything works.

edit: The slim support is only for Liteons, no Hitachi yet but its been worked on!

Hopefully it'll be transparent to the 360's OS, hijacking read/write/seek/check protection commands but throwing anything else through to the real drive to respond to (possibly with a disc in the drive just to keep it happy).

I've not looked at the videos on YouTube yet, but it sounds like at least they're peddling a project that's almost ready for release, instead of "don't buy that because we're making something better, we can't show you yet because we just made it up on the spot don't want anyone copying it, but it's on its way, honest".

As OzModChips said, they've been around on the Wii scene for a long time, and they're still here.  OK, so they dragged their arses over some of the updates (especially DriveKey) but did it in the end, and their products are rock-solid (I've never had a Wiikey2 go bad, and only 2 or 3 Wiikey1's out of shitloads of them but I think those were clones anyway).  If something's made to the standard of "trusted Wiikey quality" it really does mean quality from what I've seen, not flimsy switches and solder pads that break off (which I've seen elsewhere).

Fingers crossed, I hope this goes well and doesn't get stomped by MS.

Have half of you even checked out their site? The 360key sits between the drive and the motherboard on the 360. Of course that's not plug and play. If you can't fully research a product before you buy it then I'm not even sure... rolleyes.gif
