Disc Unreadable After Minutes Of Gameplay

Here's an eBay search for the applicable laser.

I've had 100% success rate with replacing lasers. With a DVD-ROM replacement you'd have to do a little bit more work, including either swapping the PCB or reading and then writing the key from your original drive to the new drive. If you can do it, it'll likely be successful, but there's no telling how good that laser would be.

I will order one of these and give it a go.

If you know a good tutorial for laser removal/placement feel free to post.

If not I'll find one myself.

i got the same issue.

i did the pot tweak and dropped the resistance from 3.95k ohms to about 2.95k and still no go.

might just order a new laser and see if that works.
