I love to see the little flamewars that go on between team maximus and team xecuter. I own both products and they are both great!

The X360USB pro and lizard are two different products in my opinion.

The X360USB was built to bridge the drive to the computer without the need for special configurations depending upon which drive you were working with. It is a tweaked out USB->Serial ATA adapter. Simple as that.
The lizard was designed to accomplish the same but eventually became a true standalone. I honestly believe the goal was to be just a standalone device to begin with but Team Xecuter was ready to launch with their X360USB pro so lizard had to release an incomplete version which was unfortunately still tied to a pc or risk arriving late to a future market. It sucks to have to had happen the way it did but they came through. The hardware was complete the software just needed to be finished. They held their word and it's starting to take shape as a true standalone device.
Everyone can cry and moan all they want about either teams... All it does it confuse future buyers about which product to go with.

They both accomplish the same thing!
One just needs a computer by your side while you're flashing.
One doesn't.

Both teams have come a long way in their works. It's nice to see that they are both going down their own paths because it gives buyers options on what they want in a flashing device.

It would suck if all you had were 20 clones of essentially the same thing. Thanks to the innovations of TXE and T-MAX we have options.

isnt there a device coming out soon that will allow booting from iso? Making this product and the 360usbpro obsolete?

I am not affiliated with either team in any way , I buy from either or. If letsmod is a member of the team now then my apologies , I have purchased from his shop before and I didn't have any complaints.

I would still argue that having the reliability of a PC is nice , my opinion on the matter is that your PC is running a well established OS you KNOW is going to work. That and I am not too keen on using a small screen to navigate and push buttons to flash a drive , it's just a personal opinion. If I were going to pick one personally it would be the Xecuter product , but for instance I have a Maximus Nandflasher , and whatever the DVD drive power dongle is called.

Nope won't make anything obsolete. It is also expensive , and not safe for Live right now. Old fashioned back ups will still be a main stay for a while. Unless they plan on giving out the Xode and X360key for free.

His left hand man lol .... never heard that one before. I knew they were tight I just didn't know letsmod was on the team. A lot of folks are resellers of Maximus products.

Anyway I may end up getting the Lizard because I do like being able to use Linux when I can and certainly having it standalone would facilitate that more , using the USBpro would require me to run a VM.

Who Letsmod....yeah he's part of the team.  He helped the design of the nand modules for the nandflasher project. He's not lying. I seen all the equipment. and testing tools he's got. Letsmod is quite a renaissance man. He knows alot about everything. he knows his shit, but sometimes I think he does get a little sensitive about some things. That's why he comes off across the way he does on the forums. But, in real life he's kind of sarcastic and sometimes could be a smartass....but overall he's okay guy. It's all about games dude. just enjoy everything and soak it up.

i am a noob in this flashing process and as it is a standalonce I would like to buy a lizard.

Before I go buy that lizard can someone clarify these points:

If I buy the lizard will I be able to mod ALL drives, including slim 0225.

(How many slim drives are there btw?)

Will I have to cut some traces or do some soldering? If thats the case i am not very good at it,i most probably mess things up.

Thanks
