We have recently posted the 2nd preview video of Standalone Mode. The Standalone Mode will be undergoing rigorous testing throughout the week and we anticipate releasing to the public by end of next week (if no major issues arise).

As many users are aware the UPDATE server has down the last days; we have fixed the problem and have restored the full functionality.

On another note we have posted Links in the download section for the FTDI USB drivers because some of the links in the manual’s where no longer valid, if you have problems getting the drivers please go to our download page by clicking the link above.

Lastly, there has been some claim’s about Lizard has been "way overpriced", the competitor’s are trying to compare against other tool around that "claim" to be cheaper, but when you do the math you end paying more by individually purchasing all the parts that are already included with a FULL Lizard kit. In order to have clear view on the price of both items on the market we are now offering a BASIC KIT; which consists on the Lizard unit, a USB cable and a SATA cable for a bargain price of $69.99 USD. The rest of the items can be purchased separately if desired BUT we are still offering the full 360 Lizard Kit (which includes the Scorpion Tool and the DVD Drive power adapter) for $99.99 USD.

** Note: The above prices are MSRP and may vary from reseller to reseller. Please contact your nearest reseller to see if they have basic kit available using the reseller link above.

Whats with the Iphone (yawn!) box flick?
This dont impress, you can recreate this vid with the 360USB simply by adding a Laptop which i imagine most if not all techies have access to.
And with all the recent gadgets its just not enough to think promoting the option of MOBILE FLASHING  is a crowd drawer (...pause!).
Hell we may not be burning discs at all the way things are going...
Hate to say it but it SEEMS far too little far too late!

All of the (TX said this, Maximus said that) bullshit aside, I expected it to standalone flash all phat drives, without addons, at launch. Can someone from Team Maximus confirm that all phat drives flash standalone (even including the use of an additional power supply / dvd power dongle) at this moment?

Thanks

They make a good argument about price, I would expect that the lizzard should be capable of dumping/writing harder drives than the other given the tech it would need for the stand alone thing (Not that we can compare easily - the video claiming one dumps faster than the other made me ROFL, who cares if a dump takes 1minute or 2? More time to have a sip of coffee -as fer writing, a longer write would be more likely to take; in theory anyway..)

I would like someone to have the guts to drop-out a write-solution for the newer slim drives (before the revolutionary updates drop - I think they might be holding-out, Don't hold too long boys, the ODD EMU is coming soon too!)
I would also like to see perhaps who is first in this two-horse race to make their PC/ODD/EMU for X360/Lizzard availible first! Much greater crowd puller than 'Stand-alone flashing' As it has been said before, It is a convenience but at the end of the day, one wants to be able to manage FW with a PC/Lap/Netbook. I actually thought X360 included a power-output when I bought it (My fault I should have known/checked) Untill one horse comes-thru it's 6 to one half a dozen to the other...

standalone means you don't need a PC or laptop to do the flash your drive,
and of course that sentence in bold means you are asking can you turn your PC hard drive or optical drive without power.
well in that case, you can turn on your PC without the need of power supply too, the world without electricity, great

I have both the 360 Lizard / 360USB Pro

360 Lizard FTW in my opinion . Faster....... 360USB Pro freezes every now and then
Every necessary file needed for the 360Pro installed and still freezes up.
As for the Price for the 360Lizard expensive but if you got the money and want to invest in it, Buy it
But for those whining, complaing dont buy it cause if your (__^__) broke have someone else flash your drive(s)

Must be your settings on your PC or something to do with your setup. Never had my X360USB Pro freeze on me.  Doesn't the lizard have slower write time?  Not bashing or anything, you just said its faster...

I think the Lizard flashes faster. I have both too. On the slim units my 360usb sits on a authorizing part of the flashing for a little bit where the lizard just flashes and is done with it.

I prefer the 360USBPro because I like to see that jungle flasher is extracting the information and saving it properly.

I'd be hard pressed to go through the first 80% of the flashing process only to get the write portion and find out something went wrong and you dont have the original you thought you had.

If the lizard displayed something like "Key retrieved - (KEY ##########)" and "File saved as whatever.bin" etc then maybe i'd have a little more faith.

Especially after the whole slim fiasco that left a sour taste in my mouth.

I will  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif) myself by saying that I do believe in the end after being thoroughly tested and finished that the lizard will probably the goto tool for those who just want to do simple modding.

Carrying a laptop nowadays is fine and dandy but being able to just pull a device out of your pocket and just be done with it is nice!

I wonder if the red cross has the cash yet?

Was that a taped-up ck3 under the iphone box?

Wow I didn't know the lizzard had that sort of current drain, if leaving it on for anything less than a week would cause it to prevent the car starting....

I like that it actually tells u the address when reading/writing (unlike JF) that might be handy for those stubborn drives that always freeze in the same place..
At least you would know(A little more) where the problem is if it froze on EXACTLY the same place each time (It might not help u, but it would still be handy for certain things ..)

When are these guys going to release some open-source drivers? I would like to see lizzard compatability with dosflash etc. (I think maybe X360 does, I had hoped it wouldn't need it, but I bought it mainly for a stubborn  liteon that won't erase, Which it didn't with JF. I'll have to try it in dosflash L-O-Eras.exe when I get time etc..)

I would also like to know (spec-wise) what version they each support for SATA eg; 1.0 1.1 etc.. As I suspect the reason VIA 6421 wont do 0225 is because it's only Serial ATA 1.0
