Holy dvd -emulator batman! ohmy.gif
Well, it surely will be interesting to keep an eye on this little baby, especially if MS is soon to release the xbox 1080 and ditch the 360 (hence no more firmware updates) ^^

Most HDDs are going to be limited by USB2.0 since it caps at 60MBps.

The DVD drive's load speeds are at a pathetic 16MBps. Though there's a good chance the X360key might limit the read speed so as not to set off any flags. I'm sure MS would be raising some eyebrows if a ton of 360s suddenly started loading games faster than physically possible from a normal DVD drive.

Optionally, they could allow the speed limiter to be removed for people on offline/banned consoles.

lol 60MB/s, not a chance. Try it out if you dont believe me a large single file will go through at 28+/- 5 MB/s small files will crawl ~<15MB/s

but fair enough on the DVD data transfer, I'm amazed its that low

Hey Guys,

In regards to the transfer speed, in its proto stage without any optimisation it boots games faster than DISC and FMV is flawless.
That info is directly from the team.

The product has a lot more to offer (with planned update) then what is listed.
Its a little linux box attached to your drive, so updating it is very easy.

Wow, can't believe that when I read this "vision" of the device a little over a year ago, and today, here it is!!! amazing!!
Now that's something really cool, except for no homebrew, since it's only meant to pirate games sad.gif

awww... you must admit that backups =/= piracy. smile.gif

I'm curious about the price, I saw it announced on a Dutch site at €74.95.
If I get this, it'll be after the new dashboard update.

Apparently the X360Key is made by these guys if anyones interested.

Its a prototype  rolleyes.gif

I have the WODE. I bought it for my wife's Wii and it works excellent. So if the x360key is from them then I'd be more than willing to bet it's legit.

This is great. Except for how the obviously inevitable shutdown of this company and their shipments will cause the company to stop updating the software for new disc protections rendering the expensive device useless.
But still exciting.

The team makes since 7 years modchips. Most famouse are drivekey, wiikey 1 and 2 and wiikey Fusion.
All of them are updated if a backup gets blocked, longest time I waited was 3 Weeks for an patch for New Super Mario Brothers.

A ripped game doesn't contain any of the security sector data -- how is this device going to know what to use? Does it have an ethernet port to update itself and keep a list of all data on-hand? Doubt it. I hope to hell this thing is flawless but as-is there's A LOT of work that will be required to keep this thing up-to-date on LIVE.

Of course, no LIVE = this device is great. But in that situation, I'm not sure how many people would care -- JTAG's are inherently better.

So... any news on how this will handle LIVE if at all? Maybe it will just mount .iso images?

Thanks for clearing that up.
I already saw that all 4 of the key products are hosted on the same Australian server. Also d2pro and d2lite are on that same IP.
