Was gonna ask for a source but after a pause I getcha.

Can't imagine what C4E will bring out at the same time as this, by now new firmware doesn't quite match the x360key hype that can only multiply

i don't quite know if i'm being trolled into responding, but i'm going to respond anyway:

no. this does not enable unsigned code, system patches, etc.

now if you are saying:

assume the device
1) works as advertised
2) is flexible/configurable enough b/c the unit itself should be "open"

then it is certainly feasible that a web-interface that acted a lot like a coverflow could be developed for your handheld or your PC. (x360key provides web service to your home network with a good dhtml/ajax interface served up that a web-aware device [smartphone/tablet/PC] could use).

all that interface's server side would/could do, then, is to send an eject tray command, mount the appropriate image, and close the tray. nothing like a jtag.

Please don't spread ridiculous crap like this. The likelihood that another exploit is found is so low that people have already claimed it to be impossible.

Well guys after examining the link to the xboxhacker thread link, and looking at the resellers page, It seems that a site called foxchip.com has it for pre order, Is it a reliable site, Although its French i may pre-Order it as its due for delivery round june time, My birthday!!!

Lemme see proof then ill deffo buy the "alternative" BUT My money goes to whom ever provide the most reliable and justifiable price standpoint.

Agreed. Even if you're speaking facetiously and not being serious, that could be misconstrued by anxious noobs. I think that the information given is more than enough to realize its NOT able to be a replacement for the tagged,
But as stated in my previous post, Fo those who cant afford or find a tagged box, its a ok substitute on the playing your backed up games from hdd minus the disk, I emailed the team and got the following info:

Dear ******,

X360KEY is coming... ETA end of june...

we can only say this: "XBOX OPTICAL DRIVE EMULATOR aka XODE"
is coming... For now we can not release specific information
or images, which would benefit x360key...
after seeing the features and prices x360key we can say
that:

1- Fortunately x360key follows the "old" approach of Wode...
XODE instead introduces a new way of working really
original... we will surprise you.
2- XODE will work on XBOX SLIM since its launch with a 100%
support of AP25.
3-Half price then a X360KEY in production!!! thanks the new
"original" concept of point 1...

We plan to release a first proof of working at middle/end of
may with a nice video working on a X360 SLIM console... and
a detailed review near the release of X360KEY... Production
will be ready on JULY.

We advise all to wait before place BIG pre-orders from
WIIKEY/X360KEY team, it is wise to don't risk too much...
after not tell us that there were not warned...

PS: we found time also to update WODE platform, finally the
WEB interface is almost ready, we plan to release this
feature next week.

IF this is true, then happy days!!!!

Im still a little skeptical though, seems too good to be true, but it does remind me a lot of when PSJailbreak was announced and kicked off...

Im pretty sure this is as solid as it gets, Weather is xbl safe, and is cost effective ect is unknown yet, I do know however that even c4eva is claiming there is gonna be a better alternative to this, so muct be true aye . . .
