So we can finally use any 2.5 not just the Wd Scorpio range etc?
(Or is this where you tell me we have been able to for a while!?).thats the news bit for me!
Still waitin on my 360USB that i ordered like 2 weeks ago now of "official Uk seller",mentioning no names as im sure its not there fault.
I'm betting that
'any off the shelf HDD' means:
'Any off the shelf HDD (as long as it's WD green as we really only ripped off hddhakr's code) 'Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I was hoping to try-out a SSD (even though the standard of sata supported by the 360 mobo is likely not able to utilise speeds over 7200rpm etc..) It would be nice to know my data is safe(r )
But I'm not willing to risk bricking a 300$ drive when a cursory glance of the supported list on their site mirrors Haddhakr's
Still waiting for my x360's cover, I held -off ordering it so as to get one with a cover, and they delayed it about another 5 times before shipping it without any cover! Our local distributor was kind enough to throw-in a 'probe 3' (PMT probe) not that we needed one or could use it (as we make our own form of ck3 that don't have a socket) I was happy to see that they had finally figured-out that heat-shrink is a good thing, but noticed that it hadn't been shrunk properly(nor did it go to the connector to provide strain-relief

) and that the switch wasn't functional at all! (haven't u guys heard of QA?) I also noted they have sanded the tops of all the active components on the PCB! How are we (of 'the scene') meant to be able to develop for it, if we don't even know what chips are there? Any reverser worth their salt would be able to guess/figure it out easily, so there's not really any excuse! I'm starting to regret having gone for the x360 usb over the(pricey) Max Lizzard, as it would appear they are far more interested in cashing-in (by spoon-feeding the noobz or other cost-cutting means) than providing/developing new tech! I would have thought they would have their '0225' write solution out there by now also. Don't get me wrong here, I have always had respect for Xecuter and often cringe when I read posts that Xecuter-bash , but the direction they seem to be taking(lately) in terms of the easiest/cheapest way-out instead of losing a little of their margin(or taking a small risk by releasing info) to produce a better product, is worrying. If this trend keeps-up we won't be able to keep recommending/supporting their products. It's good to see them adding new features for the x360, but this just seems like a hollow marketing tool for their product (which according to them doesn't need any marketing) by porting hddhakr to win32 with their API, I haven't seen ANY credit to Modfreakz! Maybe there's a good reason for that ;-) Perhaps they could have gone the whole hog and integrated party-buffalo's drive explorer end rant\
