MrG 1981 is that a 360 xtractor pro you are using?

The pics aren't very clear so it's hard to tell. If it is could you tell me what you did? (what pins you wired, etc.) Also is it a version 1 or version 2.

The switch you sent me a link for is a DC switch. Don't I need an AC switch?

This is what I have:




The front has 4 silver pad spots. The ones I labeled say 3V3 and GND. I assume they are the 3.3v and Ground.

Any suggestions?

I'm assuming that I should not attach the original cable to the spear. Just the ground cable from the xtractor where you marked to solder it. Correct?

Most of sample are using ck3 with the dvd cable power.
but i only have Maximus 360 Power Unit (dongle) without usb xtractor.
can i use it? where i must get the GND and 3.3v

Do you power the drive with that dongle? It's kind of hard to tell from the photo.

If so you should have the cable that connects to the 360 drive coming out of it. You can get the 3.3v and ground from that cable. I believe earlier in this thread they show which wires on that cable are the proper ones. If not check the PMT pdf file.

Cut the 3.3v wire and put your switch there. Strip part of the ground wire and connect a wire to it and run it to a pin or whatever you decide to use as your probe.

That's my understanding of it. If I'm wrong someone please correct me and help him out.

Yes. it's direct to the drive power socket without any power cable. it's different than a pro version.

Find the trace that goes to pin 6 to cut through and solder wire from the PIN6 to switch and to 3,3V
