Vertical Vertical Dvd Drive
« on: December 19, 2010, 01:34:00 PM »

Has anyone ever had any experience running a 360 with the DVD drive pointing straight up? I'm trying to mount this sucker and a TV inside of a tough box for my next Afghanistan deployment. Since I'm trying to do this as clean cut and awesome as possible, I'm stuck with mounting my new 360S vertical, tearing it apart to pull the drive and extending the power and sata cables to mount it somewhere else, or taking the easy way and more or less just putting it level on a shelf(which I don't really want to do as it doesn't seem nearly as awesome as the other two ideas). I'm not really worried about extended use with it as I plan to just burn all the games onto an external flash drive, so the discs shouldn't be spinning too often. The drive definitely will work as long as there's a slight angle to it so the DVD doesn't fall out, but I'm just not sure how safe of a long term solution this is. So how bout it? Anyone done this or seen it done in another project?
