Dvd Drive Swapping

I used to have a Hitachi DVD drive but I spoofed it and replaced it with a BenQ dvd drive before the new dash was released, If I don't even use modded firmware(I am spoofing the stock firmware) do you think I was flagged and in that case should I update to the LT+ firmware for my BenQ VAD6038
