Recently bought a 360 of ebay with a listed dvd drive fault. Managed to get the drive in there to read the disc however it comes up please insert disc into an xbox 360. So i figure maybe the laser is just knackered. I spoofed my 0078 drive to the sammy ms28 which was in there originally, however even with that i get the please insert disc into 360.

Im thinkin maybe some torag has tried changing the dvd drive previously and the one in now is not original, either that or iv spoofed it wrong :S

any ideas? is there a way i can find out if that sammy drive is original or not??

The only way you'll know for sure is if the dashboard version is old enough to jtag so you can get the drive info and key from the motherboard.
