Xbox 360 Freezing Any Help?

Ok I have gotten an xbox 360 from a friend.  it originally had RROD and when I fixed that apparently also had a ba dupdate on it, So I cleared system cache once I got it to load to system blade and then updated with newest dashboard as it was already NXE.

Now everytime I play a game, it plays fine for like 5 minutes and then just simply freezes up, or stops loading.

What I have tried:

Installing game on Hard drive (install 100%) still freezes
Putting a 12v fan directly on CPU
Putting 12v fan directly on GPU

Last night after installing game and having fan on what I believe is the CPU (the tall heat sink) I did manage to ge tit to work for like 10 minutes or so... I have not been able to try any other game as Civilization (original disk) is the only game I currently have here (will go to brother;s tonight to get a different one to test).  But CIvilization works on at least 3 other Xboxs I have tried it on very recently, without freezing.

It could possibly be a DVD drive issue as it does sound a little dead but I figured by installing the game it would either fail to install or work without the DVD drive for 99% of all activity.

This is a Samsung Drive with the updated Heatsinks.

Sorry for the double post is there an edit button?

Anyway I tested the xbox with Bioshock and it froze again after 5 minutes.  Any help..  All heatsinks seemed well cooled after freeze, barely room temp...

When it freeze do you see anything strange on screen? like the game image has been altered? like lines or small boxes that don't seem logical to be there.

No it is kinda like it just stops thinking.  Nothing visible.  I have now purchased the new hybrid fix as that is what started all this issue.  I have done about 6 regular xclamp fixes but always on Hitachi's this one is a samsung with the new heat sinks and have had some trouble getting the screws right...

Ok when you do the hybrid, let us know how it went. I hope you reflow the GPU when you did the x-clamp fix.
