The Foam For The Hyrbid Xclamp Fix
« on: February 03, 2020, 04:16:00 AM »

I read in the xclamp fix that you only need 4mm. that's fine and all but is putting more foam (8mm) going to cause any bad effects or even help it? im assuming it would since it would push the  board up even more and sort of "bend" it? which is bad right?

Any type of flexing on the motherboard is bad.

considering rrod is caused by cracked solder, how is a foam pad gonna heal the cracked connection.  if you want to waste your money, waste it on a reflow at least.
