I have an xbox 360 elite that freezes just as it loads the dashboard.
I got it from a friend who didn't want it because it didn't work. I went to open it up, and there were no signs of it being opened before.
I applied the x-clamp fix, and the penny fix (I only do that now because it provides enough space between the motherboard and the metal case to prevent grounding), and I know I did these correctly as I have done them numerous times in the past. It still freezes, the fixes did nothing, which was somewhat expected due to the nature of the problem and the fact that the heatsinks are inherently different on elite models.

Does anyone know what causes the elites to freeze like this (I've been reading around, and it seems like it only happens to elites)?
