Long story short:

Owned a Gen 1 Xbox and got a RROD two years ago.

Did the xclamp mod and fixed the RROD. Shortly after, I flashed the Hitachi drive to play downloaded backups with success.

System RRODs yesterday. I was getting a code E74 / 0102. I pulled it apart, tried cleaning and replacing thermal paste. Nothing. Tried the penny trick, nothing. Then tried to do the oven reflow trick. Error changed to a 0020. I tried multiple things to alleviate this, and still nothing. (Even though there was no smoke and no capacitors popped, I'm chalking up the 0020 to a screw up with the oven reflow attempt).

I don't want to buy a new box for two reasons:

-1: The cost
-2: I wouldn't be able to flash the drive without voiding the warranty.

What options do I have to get a new mobo in there while still utilizing my DVD drive? Are there any other options that I may have? I have another Xbox but a friend claims that the board may not be good because he was having video issues before he gave up on it. Apparently the video went all blue before blacking out altogether.

Any advice is appreciated.
