Attack Of The Tray Eject Issue
« on: May 17, 2010, 09:05:00 PM »

Well I have a friends xbox360 old edition with a samsung MS25 drive in it (have tried another drive or two and same issue BTW), the problem is when it turns on the light flashes green as if it can't find the dvd drive, on top of this the drive will eject. Now first off I thought, ok bad flash and wrong firmware, but I have since checked that out and I believe it has the correct dvdkey (I don't know if a dvdkey would cause the flashing green light and eject issue).

So atm the drive ejects when turned on and when I press eject to make it go in, the WHOLE time the light is flashing green btw, EVEN when connected to the PC and just powered off the xbox. So it appears to be some sort of power issue with the xbox? perhaps, yet I have tried different cables, so it seems perhaps a pot or chip that controls some of the drives power functions has failed perhaps? perhaps?? I DO NOT KNOW! sad.gif

SO most will go, oh common idiot its the ModeB issue, but nope its not that, it is definately not in mode B.

My conclusion is that it must be a part somewhere that controls the drives power and was wondering if anyone can lead me to a diagram that I can use to check the power sockets inputs to see if all the required power etc is there, I really need to resolve this mystery.

Some help would be fantastic!
