and here i was hoping for a spi pogo-pin feature... sad.gif

no offense team xecuter as you always have my vote, but without a solderless adapter for at least spi, id rather buy a usb programmer off the b/s/t and support a scener. nice price on the product though!!!

Right, so you want the reliability of a USB SPI flasher and then mix it with the unreliability of pogo pins.

I've been active on here and T-X forums for a number of years now and lost count of the problems people had with the likes of the Xapt3r, X2.3b Lite etc - that was only to fire up a modchip! You want to take that risk with something which potentially ruin your console? Soldering is the ONLY way to ensure a good connection between two points. It will come with pinheaders so you can install these and on that console you won't need to worry about it again. If you can't solder a pinheader, you have no business in the modding world!

guess I wasn't so far off then, was I?

as far as db1f1 (or its alternative) goes, vb encryption vb is spot on with his soldering method. I suggest a VERY small wire for that point to get best results (no pad lifting).

Maybe i have just been soldering for a while , but none of the points on any motherboard are very difficult to solder too. I actually thought the Zephyr i did was easier than all the xenons i have done. I soldered the point that goes under the RF board on the underside of the mainboard.
IMO if you are going to be a modder you need to learn how to solder , and also how to do the modding on your own. I hate selling kids Jtagged 360's they call me continuously now for help , even though i clearly put in the ad that it is for serious buyers only who know what they are buying , 1 of them got home and said dude it doesn't have freestyle dash it's just the regular dashboard , WOW you really knew what you were getting didn't you.

I never had any luck with the old solderless stuff , and actually found it easier to solder in a pinheader. Solderless might work out for reading the NaNd but i wouldn't trust it for the Jtag points at all , i also don't see the point in paying 12 bucks for a little PCB and some wires that do the same job as the 3 wires for the Jtag points. I will be getting the main product , but not the useless accessories like sodlerless adapters or Jtag connections.

Oh and Shivadow , how exactly would you expect team xecuter to get in trouble with some trade group , the devices they make are in a legal gray area and are not subject to any kind of trade liabilities for false advertising. They aren't a literal company they are a group of hackers that release hacking products , the big raid in 07 was for similar devices, not to read your NaNd but DVD drive modchips.

Tin the DB1F1 point

How do you do that? I heat up the point and it's immediately sticking to the tip and lifted!

Easy, Flux paste, decent Soldering Iron & tip (I use a 12W Weller)and good quality solder .

1, dab a bit of flux paste onto the point that requires tinning
2, Create heat bridge on tip of soldering iron using good quality solder
3, touch flux'ed up point with heat bridge on the soldering iron tip and pull back (DO NOT LEAVE THE IRON ON THE POINT!!)
4, Visually inspect point with your naked eye or better still use an inspection lamp/magnifier
(If point is now shinny and silver jobs a goodon, if not repeat the entire process ie go back to no 1.)

ALL points should be tinned like this, you should also tin your cables as well before even thinking about soldering the cables to the points.  Tinned points + Tinned cables + Flux Paste = Perfect solder points.

It's been some time, and I'm not sure... but has anything ever come of this?
