It does the exact same thing as the 360NandFlasher and the Nand-X. The only difference is it has it's own software.
wrong.
1) Maximus NAND flasher and X-NAND are identical. Cygnos is a different approach. they flash the xbox NAND directly, not via the southbridge. The direct reading and programmming if Cygnos is MUCH faster.
2) Maximus and X-NAND do not have any way of making this nicely internal. as some other people have also posted here, you have to open up your console to attach the flashing device or you have to make ugly cuts to take out the USB cable. Cygnos was designed to have a vertial USB connector so you can just plug and unplug it whe your console is closed.
3) Cygnos has (long time ago) integrated the jtag
HACK, which means they actually trigger the jtag inject from their firmware, you dont need diods or resistors. this way is much safer. look at the reports from
"Jtag Saver" (
http://www.xbox-scen...EkFZPxAAGhE.php). the homemade diode or resistor way can easily destroy your xbox...
this is not at all off-topic, we are discussing installation ease and capabilities here, right? or is this the praise X-NAND thread? everybody can have his own opinion, mine is that this replica of others works (XBH guys release this Do your own USB flasher months ago) and stealing their design just sticks. They bang on their chests for copying something that was out there months ago. you could even buy self made PIC USB programmers on ebay back then.
