Usb & Syncing Problems

IVE just turned my 360 on, it powers up ok but there dosnt seem to be any power to the usb ports, its not seeing my play & charge cable or a wired controller, then i tried syncing the wireless controller but that wont synce for some reason, anyone got any ideas,ive never come across this problem before.
