Maximus announced his NANDFlasher for Xbox360:
Quote

What is the NANDFlasher?
THE FIRST PROFESSIONAL TOOL FOR ALL YOUR XBOX 360 HOMEBREW NEEDS !!
The nandflasher is basically a JTag device that lets you read and write to the X360 NAND.  This requires an Exploitable console.  Hmm, is my console xploitable?  Well if you have a dash kernel before 8xxxx and the console was manufactured before Jun 18, 2009, then you most likely can use this device.

A bit more details about the device was posted on eurasia.nu:
Quote

The product is scheduled to ship on March 26 with a retail price around USD $45. The 360 NAND Flasher will be available in two flavors; one with plastic shell (translucent-blue) and the other with clear heat-shrink plastic. The kit also includes a wiring system which will greatly reduce the install time.

I was wondering when an OEM would start making one of these.  I hope they're cost effective, but I'm not holding my breath....

They seem to be focusing on the USB / Speed aspect of this device which while good is nothing new, Many others already have USB devices that dump/write the NAND at fast speeds.

The main focal point for this device is of course how it connects to the board, a easy re usable solder connection or a solder less connection??

As they are "hiding" this (probably until they have many pre-orders) it makes me think that there nothing new here and is probably a waste of money (buy the usb header yourself or buy theirs with a clear blue case & reset switch)

I hope they prove me wrong with some sort of UBER solder-less connection.

Show us the connection to the board!! you want people to pre buy your product after only seeing half of it WTF???

$45 each kit, the cost was higher then we originally wanted but with the processor we are using and the ez installation kit, the cost will be justified, once the details are released you will agree

You can do the same thing for less than half that price I can't see it selling to good, unless there are extra features we don't know of. I seriously doubt any solderless solution comes about other than that conductive glue which after messing with that stuff with an intensafire controller that's no solution, applying it to a mainboard? no way your better off soldering.

LOL, funny video, but again no one is forcing you to pre-order.  Something have to remain a secret, its like xmas, you cant open those presents as tempting as it might be.  biggrin.gif

the USB Jtag SPI using the pic are selling for $50 and up on ebay and they are twice a sslow as this device. In the end people will purchase whatever they want, that is why there is a market, to give you choices

If you know our way to work you will know we never cheat to people, thats is another vendor out there who uses tricks to catch sales.   The only reason to not reveal yet is to have that other vendors do their job and not just copy ideas from us as they have being done lately.

This could also be used for hdd uncripple purposes, correct? It's just a usb nand reader from the looks of it, but it may have some kind of nifty solderless connector for the motherboard side, that would be sweet. Anyways, yes, you could build it yourself for half the price, but i've seen prebuilt ones going for about 40$ so this doesn't seem too steep.

It feels a bit faster than the home made usb readers I saw in use, it looks faster than mine at last, but thats way too expensive imo, unless it has a really good solderless adapter (not so hard to make one if they want to), but well, lets wait and see!

And btw, their forums is a big piece of crap right now:

Ouch!

I have tried to find a usb header for ages... could you PM me a link the necessary header?  I'm not an electronics engineer... Idk all the names, etc. All I've seen are the DIY's where you need to DIY a usb controller but DIY a PIC flasher first. Too much work for me, but it's the same price as Maximus' deal.

"EZ installation kit"...
Hmmm... I can mod my case up the wazzu easily (cnc mill at work). Is this an external plug apparatus, or an actual board I/O hookup?

Btw... for $45US, I'd almost rather make my own stuff. More educational! I personally don't care about "backups", I'm about the homebrew.

So it will be the usual thing with his products?  $50 = £50 wish I lived in that exchange rate world sad.gif  Why does he choose to rip off UK customers??  Its like that extracter when it first appeared it was £20 MORE THEN a CK3 with shipping  sad.gif

There's also Team-Xecuter's that was announced a while ago to consider, when they eventually have it for sale:

really, you have to highjack the thread to advertise other peoples stuff.  WOW.

people will purchase what they want, no one is forcing them to buy one product or another, we welcome team X into the market.  There always has to be a competitor.

You will see when they release the pricing it wont be for off from ours, ARM processors are not cheap
