My advice.    Take out the logic card of your old DVD drive.   Buy a new drive matching yours from ebay.  There are good prices there  - look around.

Match the make and model number.  Don't worry about the firmware version.

Take out the new one's logic card and replace with the old one.  Put back together, test with console.

You should be good to go.  Brand new drive - it will just purr.

But you can consult others.  That how I did mine.
