Russion to English Google

German to English

Translated to english. Does the Russion one look like a Spear Tool? Traces will still need to be cut and re-connected. Why don't they just mass produce something like that instead of making this Xecuter LT Switch?

basically. it doesn't make things faster, it doesn't make things easier.
it just costs money

you can get a roll of wire and a switch for less money and save time as you don't need to wait for this to come in

like everyone says, ixtreme fw allows you to reflash with no issue so this doesn't even help there.

atleast its only $8.. but that could be put towards something else. oh, like a roll of wire and a couple switches to permanently do more then one drive.

You can remove this and use it on more then one drive as well, you just got to fix your traces still.

some countries do their dates different, so they actually mean January 11, 2010 = 11/01/10

I don't see what's so hard on cutting traces and exposing them to solder too.... I did it today within 10 minutes I had the drive open and ready to be read... Flipped the switch and off I went

all you need is an exacto knife, soldering iron, a few pieces of wire, a 22ohm resister and a spst switch

an whammo bammo you got it made smile.gif

and besides... By the time u get this thing in the mail you could have already been playing games for about a week lol.... But yes it does have it's purposes and I think it's a great device for some people.... But if you know how to solder and can hold ur hang steady lol... Why waste $8 an wait about a week to make it barely easier??

Ahh but see, you took 10 minutes..  With this, it's "60 seconds"...   You probably have a lot of time to wais, but I don't and my time is way more valuable than yours...  biggrin.gif

Well, it seems like all you need to do us cut the trace, then slap this mofo on it. Sounds like less than a minute, to me...

I'm surprised they haven't bundled it with a HDD SATA adapter, or some other such value-added-bollocks that you'll never use.  A board and a switch, and from my experience of Xecuter products in the past, switches aren't their strong point.

A knife, a bit of wire and a hefty resistor, job done.  Actually SAVE your original firmware somewhere and you'll never need to open the drive again!

Still, I suppose someone'll buy them.  Someone always does.

i've been reading through this and found nothing but bashing.

I have a newer elite, almost positive it has 94850, my question is:

how much does this cut down on the difficulty of modding the newer liteons?  i see I still have to solder..but do I still have to do something with those little pins everyone was talking about?  Does this cut down on ease at all?  Need an honest answer, because 8 dollars is nothing, especially for a one time install and done.  But i'm just worried about the one time install..

doesnt require cutting of traces just a couple of blobs of solder and done takes 60 seconds including taking the bottom off the drive dont know why everyone is complaining i will be installing these to all liteons as its a damn sight easier than using that sodding probe and when theres an update voila already done

people just love to knock xecuter i think they are doing a great job keeping things alive

edit: the drive in the picture was probably a spare they had lying around that had the traces cut already

I've been waiting on someone confirming this as I have no real experience in cutting traces, bit of soldering but thats it.

Not doubting what you said but if theres absolutely no need to cut traces and it just needs to be soldered to the PCB then I'm definetely using this kit.

From Xecuter site

Removal of Resin: Scratch the surface of the solder points with an fiber glass pen / exacto knife / sandpaper / emery board.
Time: 20 seconds
Difficulty 1-10: 1

Cutting the Traces: Use an exacto knife to make 2 small cuts.
Time: 20 seconds
Difficulty 1-10: 1

Soldering the PCB: The PCB is self aligning to the exact positons. Solder 5 small blobs to the larger solder positions on the LT Switch - they will flow down to the small points on the Liteon PCB.
Time: 20 seconds
Difficulty 1-10: 2

However it does not make it clear which to traces need to be cut  unsure.gif
