X Clamp?
« on: January 02, 2010, 06:40:00 AM »

Its up to you. The first time I attempted it, I RROD'd my perfectly fine xbox which had never had the ring of death before because I messed something up. That being said, when I bought a used one as a replacement and opened it up, to my surprise it already had the x-clamp fix done, and I feel safer with it that way.

No offense but unless you've got experience you might as well let someone else do it for you. The X-Clamp doesn't cool the console any better, it basically pushes the cpu(or gpu) into the motherboard harder from what I understand. Unless your going to mod your box for firmware or jtag you might as well just not install anything and if something goes wrong send it into Microsoft.
