I have my mates 360 that had the rrod, the e74 fault, i have fitted the repair kit and that side seems ok but when i switch it on it says that there is no hard drive visible, so i take the hard drive out and fit it in again.. the console then starts up  again and still doesn't see the hard drive..
Even if i leave the harddrive off it still wont go past the 1st page where it says there is a problem with the harddrive..

has anybody had this fault
