Failed Update - Looking For A Fix

Hi All,

Ok firstly let me clear the air before I get a barrage of 'use the search'. This is my issue, and what I have tried so far.

I brought a broken 360 purely to find the answer on how to fix it.

This 360 boots up but prior to loading dashboard, then cuts into the 'updating' screen for a second or 2, then jumps to an Update Failed screen, asking to contact microsoft, with the error code.

PV:0.0.0.0 CV:2.0.8498.0

I've tried downloading the CV:2.0.8498.0 and putting it on CD and USB and loading the the 360 with and without a HDD plugged in. I've also been down the local rental shop to rent out an original of the game used to update the console (As I believe a backup was used). That too didn't work.

So this is where I'm at, I'm running out of ideas, and getting bored of searching and finding the same answers in multiple languages.

Any help to nail this issue would be greatly appreciated.
