I recently bought a rrod 360 off ebay for the pricely sum of £10.50. I bought mainly for the case as I want to set about modding/making one, but that is another story.
The box has 3 red lights 1/3/4, and a secondary error code of 0110. From what I have read, this is a problem with the ram somewhere, and could/should be sorted with the good old heatgun. That is all well and good but I also have dead fans and the dvd drive will not open, if I press eject the powerlight blinks as it normally would, but there's no sign of life from the drive.
I assumed the dead fans+dvd drive may be caused by a damaged trace, or one or more components missing from the board, but I have removed the heatsinks and thoroughly inspected the mobo for damage on the top and the bottom, and have found no visible damage anywhere.
I am new to fiddling with 360's although I have repaired a few for friends etc, and it isn't really a major thing if this box won't come back to life, but I thought all you clever folks on here might be able to help me out.
