They would be on a single die, if the alleged specs are to be believed. Why would there still be 2 clear heatsinks?

ive heard rumors of 45nm and combined, either one would make me happy.

I thought this was all old news... Jasper motherboard with an old GPU heatsink and a Lite-On drive that can't be modded yet. Don't get me wrong, but if there's something newer other than that, this topic is just another re-post.

I bet it's just a hidden advertisement for his shop.

off topic: wtf, they're asking €150 for an unofficial 250 GB HDD, which can be made for €50 (hdd + casing) using a free tool.

I posted this a month ago and was told it was old news.. as it was posted 1 month before I knew about it..

from here

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=693172

to here

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=691227

But it is weird that they are not using the extra heat sink.. I woud have rathered my xbox have it.. even if the GPU runs cooler now... don't mean to go on about something so old..

I've modded a few 'new' console recently that don't have the secondary GPU heatsink however they still have the moddable 83850C drive.

These consoles weren't the new forza pack so I can't comment on if they can be hacked or not.

I have seen these a month ago too. Also had the 83850c and also i was able to hack it.
They run cool enough now they probably don't need it anymore.

Just got a new XBOX360 with the same CPU/GPU cooling method (no extra heat pipe). It came with the built-in 512MB memory and it was packed with a Lite-On firmware 83850C
It was the easiest drive to mod/flash out of all drives ever made.

I have to also add that I just modded a 360 with a manufactured date of September.  It also had the old heatsinks which I thought was weird but like I said, had no problems using the newest jungleflasher to dump and write the ixtreme 1.6 firmware to it.  I modded it and gave it back to the kid with no problems.  I also noticed that while testing the heatsinks never got too hot to touch...and i played ODST for a good 20 mins.

Now not to totally throw everyone, who are messed up with these 83850's.. Theres also a 93450.. Maybe the V2 83450s are actually 93450

Pretty sure I actually seen it on this site.
But I have came across one Oct 5th so quite old news.

Heres the link : hxxp://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=143929

This is possibly credible, but no, the un-dumpable 838s are still indeed 838s, they return the correct firmware revision in JungleFlasher. It just seems that it is a patched version of the firmware.

Agreed.  This is not front page worthy.

News of a new unreadable drive seems news worthy to me.

Since when is this new? Been hiding under a rock? Certain 838s have been unflashable for weeks now. Brand new motherboards without heat pipe have been around for months.

I thought it was new worthy, because I've never seen this new on the homepage of XS. And I thought M$ picked a nice bundle to start with this patched firmware. BTW the newest DOSFLASH (DOS is more stable then JF in windows) can read the keys out of the older 83530C drives. But this one keeps giving the error.

Maybe it's time to report which boxes can't be read?

MFR/LOT of 360 and the MFR date of the drive

My Liteon was made in AUG 2009 (around the time freekey became public). They should have waited much longer.
