So you guys don’t think this would ease the risk of being banned?  It seems to me that connecting to live with a modified dvd drive is extremely risky.  To reduce the risk of ban,  you could leave your drive virgin and use this drive when off line to play your backups.  Then when you want to play on live you take your original games out of the safe and pop them in your virgin drive, plug the Ethernet cord in.  This may not be safer but I know there has to be risk being connected to live with a modified drive. uhh.gif

I would never use this for the purpose they are peddling.  I would only get this for a nice external case for my already externalized dvd drive.

Definitely...I've actually started being active here again over the last week or so.

I think it has it's uses, mostly to prevent bans from XBL, but I won't get one.  If I had to guess, it's probably going to be about as expensive as what you can buy used 360s for anyway.

Sorry for the dumb questions, but is this an entire replacement drive, or just a shell? And how would it work? If it's a drive, do you have to flash it with your internal drive key to get it to work/play actual games?

 I thought the NAND could log data offline, and send it to the host when one logs back on... if this is the case, then ultimately, you would want to spend $65 on a cygnosis (provided it could support both kernels we want), and then this so we can have a single xbox 360 with 2 nands and 2 dvd drives.... which is essentially "the hard way" of having 2 xboxes tongue.gif

Now you can make a slim 360 and have a nice case for your DVD drive, other then that

THIS = WORTHLESS!

Totally Unnecessary.... what we need now is a mod-chip capable of switching between newest kernel with changed boot code and older kernels

no offense intended, but I like the irony of you saying that with your gamertag showing your avatar with the $5 lightsaber  tongue.gif

back on topic... anyone else think they just gutted the HD-DVD drive at first glance?

I sold executor some devkits for programmable SATA-2-SATA bridge chips which (if developed) could have become some great 360 products.

A banked hard drive. Would allow you to use literally any model and any size hard drive but cut into multiple 120GB areas (switchable offline). It would have a USB connector for easy transfer of files to/from the PC.

A DVD-ROM bridge. Basically it sits between the xbox and the DVD-ROM on the SATA connector and intercepts all traffic, effectively replacing patched firmware, no need for key extractors etc.

But things went silent over a year ago sad.gif

First the RROD kit and now this. Team Xecutor what happened to you?

True. It does not matter if you play the backup offline or online. If you play a bad backup this data can be saved and later uploaded to Live next time you log on.

This is the same reason why those who opt for the so called (mod chips) for the dvd drive is no more safe than firmware flashing.

Utterly pointless. The only use I see for this is a premade case for an 0800 drive.
