Also is it possible to borrow a friends HDD to mod the other HDD

Aslong as its not the Samsung, Has to be the fujitsu one.
Also you might get your friend and yourself banned if you use your hdd online in a game with him.
And you void the 5 year hdd warranty opening it.

Well where you live will determine what shop I give you a link to for the hdd.
Such as if you lived in nz id give you the link http://pconlineshop....oducts_id=26909

You can get the hddss.bin from lots of places. Search google.

5 year warranty is for the hdd inside the case.
Iv had a 3 year old hdd die and MS fixed it free of charge due to it being the hdd inside the case failing and not the case failing (which is the only thing MS makes for the hdd).

You might be able to get your data back on the computer and dumping the raw data from the drive.

I live in the USA

I read somewhere that if I used my friends Hard Drive to get the information needed for the mod that if I go online and he's online too, that we both could get banned. So wouldn't the same apply if I used tge hddss.bin?

I tried hooking the drive up to my computer, but I couldn't even here it spin up. Is there something I am missing? Or does it have to hook up to a laptop?

that is purely speculation at the current time. but i have yet to have this problem and i have done 20-30 of the 120gb hdd's using 10 different hddss.bin's (from REALLY 120gb M$ drives)

So should I use hddss.bin's from actual 120 GB drives or can I not use my hddss.bin from my 20 GB HDD?

How do I find hddss.bin's that are from 120 GB drives?

You say it's speculation. How long has this just been speculation?

I find it kind of lame if they did ban people for this. I mean seriously... What if you borrowed a friends drive for awhile and just took their hddss.bin and then MS banned them and you. They would have no idea what happened and it really wouldn't be fair to them.

you wont have a choice as to hddss.bin from actual 120gb drives as it wont register as a 120gb if you use the one from a 20gb!

google is your friend wink.gif

it has been speculation since we first started using HDDhackr to do this to bevs drives.

you "shouldnt" be taking the hddss.bin technically anyway! you are "supposed" to be buying M$ drives remember?  wink.gif

Also what are the difference in colors? Like the Western digital BEVS 120GB Blue and the Western digital BEVS 120GB Black? Which one is better?

ALSO: What are the original 360 Hard Drive specs, e.g. RPM, Cache, ect.
