All I'm saying is people here should support these guys, everyone on the drive hacking threads is ready to throw paypal money at the guys that came up with a free way to get the new liteon key. That is nice and all, but I'd rather see people throw there money at an actual hacking attempt, rather than just a piracy solution.

I agree. We all dream of the day we can do things with the 360 like we could with the Xbox 1 but this is not the way to go.

Yes IF lots of work goes into the project at some point some wort of homebrew may come out of it but this method has been run as far as it will go. We need to get back to square one and start over to find a new path around the fortress Microsoft has built around the consoles heart.

But sad fact is that if by the time the 360 has been fully unlocked there will be better/cheaper solutions available by other means.

Back in the Xbox 1 days you could not beat what you could accomplish with XBMC and a TV. BUT now you can build a quad core PC with 4GB or more of ram and a 1TB hard drive and hook it to your HDTV and not need to invest a fortune in doing it.

360 is a pretty powerful machine but nothing compared to a mid rang cheap mini PC.

Got a few Non HDMI conoles myself too but it doesn't stop there, they have to be pre CB1921 which means it wont work if you ever sent it to MS to get repaired or bought it after a certain date.

I think most, if not all 2006 dated conoles that haven't been for repair can use this.

The only way to what CB you have is to fit one of these thou  sad.gif

HDMI owners can use it for the ban protection thou.

Maybe if some developments are made from using this on older ones will eventually allow all 360's to use the full features of Cygnos360 v2

I would love to see that even though i have a pre HDMI console. However, I think many people realize that the security on the newer 360s is just too tight. But....no security system is perfect so we gotta just keep trying.

Yeah unless all xbox 360's or at least most are able to do this, then it really is dead on arival.

Actually, I see it as a seperate battle. This is all about getting more out of the existing hack. Once more apps actually exist for the 360 in a hacked state, then there will be more effort by others to find ways to break the hv.

Very nice to see some real 360 hacking again. Hopefully the scene will be receiving the 'kickstart' soon.

I dont know the full techical details but know that that is the case from reading alot of Xboxhacker.net

I send in quite a few Xenons and every time the serial number will change and I always get back a different console.

perhaps we should organise a fund for it or something throw down the gauntlet for the best hackers out there to boot linux on the latest kernel or something (lol i dont knw im not an expert ) i can remember something like that on xbox got that hacked so quick

I agree with this wholeheartedly! There was a fund that got up a bit of money and steam just for backwards engineering the ni-fi wireless system of the Nintendo DS, and it worked, at least well enough to provide us with the necessary tools to use wireless (there were only a few really talented individuals really working on the hack).

Anyone know how to start a proper fund that doesn't sound like some anonymous Joe holds everyone's money until a hack is developed and then, oh no, anonymous Joe disappears with the money, etc.?

Maybe if the good people at X-S would organize the paypal fund for this, (or at least some very well known and well loved member), we'd all have the confidence to put money up towards this goal.

Damn praise deserved.  But as other pointed out, for mass acceptance and for a homebrew scene to flurish this sort of thing needs to work on all consoles, not only on an ever shrinking minority.

Imagine a full blown homebrew scene on 360.  God how I miss the the excitement of discovery on xbox 1.  I recall the first time I fired up evoX and even playing my first AVI even before XBMP and XBMC.

I know what you mean, when the Xbox1 homebrew scene was huge it got me into gaming, i bought tons of Xbox1 games, but without homebrew the 360 just doesn't have the same appeal.

MS is writting new file system (with new keys) always, so they do update to CB 1921 too. If you have repaired your box after half 2007, you are unlucky. The best way to confirm this is dump your nand and open in with NAND FLASH TOOL by Robinsod

BTW CB 4558 and 5761 on falcons and zephyrs are still vulnerable to timing attack. The prolem is that base kernel can't boot on HANA chip.

The device has everything you need to flash/read the flash memories, get your CPU key (needed to make a modified or manual-downgraded kernel work) and also includes all hardware to perform the Time Attack exploit on your Xbox360 (which allows to still retrieve your CPU key even if you're on a kernel newer than the exploitable kernels).

Is there any chance that the DVDKey of a console could be recovered using this chip?

Doesn't seem to be; it just lets you dump, flash, and swap nands. So far, the only way to recover a DVD key requires a flashed drive in the first place (meaning that you have the DVD key).

I'm kinda surprised there's no way (discovered, at least) to sniff it out, yet, but whenever we find a new way to break the hv (hopefully in a way that doesn't require a DVD), then we'll probably be able to read or assign a new key.
