E74 Then E73
« on: July 30, 2009, 11:22:00 AM »

I had E74 and that was fixed.. It was working for a few days (used a hair dryer) then i borrowed my friends heat gun to go over it again.. Everything was working fine, I turned it on and booted up.. btw this was out of the case, so no fan.. I was going to flash the drive but forgot to put it back in the case with the fan.. the 2 flashing lights.. Yeah ok no problem.. Turned it off let it cool down then got the bottom right like, Screen told me E73 1021.. Any ideas on how to fix this.?

I have taken off the GPU heatsink and did the heat gun put fresh thermal paste.. Overheating the GPU can cause the ethernet to go bad.?

Thx for your help in advance..

I have the same problem. I read you can do this... http://xbox-experts.com/e/tutorial.php?n=sbxclamp ...but I would try starting it up just pushing down on the chip first to see if that is the problem, and it wasn't for me.

In my case it E73'ed after I did the hybrid x-clamp mod. I think I did it wrong or something because I think it caused the board to flex more and that is when I got E73...

Might have to find a reflow machine to fix it.. I have a heat gun just don't know what to reball..

Thx for the response.. But that didn't work for me either..
