I was about to play saints row 2 I had plugged in my USB charger for my wireless controller... and all I saw was a black screen and it would not load... Turned back on... 3 RED LIGHTS! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/muhaha.gif)

I had already "Remove solder from the pins under the USB ports so that they are not shorting out anymore" from XS Filter - 062508 - filtered.s... unless I unsolder the wrong part. It worked for 1 month.

The first 4 times I get error code 0101 and the fifth time its 0103..

i have two of those...
did everything and no results...heatgun, reflow, oven, CPU + GPU+RAM+ANA+Southbride...all of them...
Damn it's hard....

Damn it's hard....

Its probaby a solder joint dealing with the gpu would be my guess. If and when I get to the same point with
no other options I would try applying a little pressure on the gpu and heat the hell out of it from the bottom of the board. I know its been said you can wreck the board but what the hell, its pioneering . My idea is most of the heat is generated by the gpu so its a crap shoot say 60/40 that its a bad solder joint thats stubborn. With these x clamps sometimes applying more or less pressure on the screws fixes problems with these connections so my theory says its a solder connection with the gpu. Am I wrong , maybe but its a best guess that I will apply when anyone of my boards get this unfixable error. Its a risk but when all else fails...

I took a look on the motherboard but it seems to be all good... I cant get it to work. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grr.gif)

I did notice it still boots though. when I quickly press the sync button it shows green lights searching for controller but then it shows RED LIGHTS.

re-apply the Arctic Silver and the x-clamp fix. I had the same problem today with a console, same behavior but error 0022. After that it has RROD instantly and 0021. Now I just baked the GPU and I will know if it works, tomorrow. At least is a big improvement.

I heatgun the xbox yesterday... and the next day I plugged the power cable first!!! SECOND! I plugged the HDMI and it AUTOMATICALLY TURNED ON AND THE DVD DRIVE OPENED BY ITSELF... green lights and it froze.

Turned it off and on... 3 red lights.. This time the error code was 010103...

THEN AGAIN BUT!!! the middle green light was on! but it would not show red lights or green.

The console I told you, got 0102 error now and the x-clamp fix wont work. Not even a heatgun does. It will go for a complete BGA rework. Your problem seems very strange. I am sure there is something wrong that you didn't check yet. Look carefully the board for any missing components and go through your x-clamp fix to see if you applied more pressure than should be, or you put the washers in wrong order.

It's pure luck whether the X-Clamp fix will work, let alone anything else you may have tried.

Start getting the word out that you can work on 360s in your area and save up for a new Jasper (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) 12v switch the fans and add a heatsink fan and you have yourself a RROD-proof system.

Its really strange... I found out that it turns only turns on with a USB controller... When it is on it has 3 red lights.

NO BUTTONS WILL RESPOND! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grr.gif) NOT EVEN THE EJECT BUTTON.

I am thinking its the southbridge problem... I have a heatsink on the southbridge. possibly it booted with a heatsink on???

Im going to heatgun it again.. focusing on the southbridge... i will post my findings...
