Aye! it works.

Couldnt get it to work with "better bodies" tho... it did do something ... create a lot of !!! around the bodies (game cant find the textures?).

"Qarls hot girls 2" worked well tho, nice to see some heads that dont look like they've been hit with a hammer too many times.

Ive got the budget "classics" version of Morrowind (v1.2 it says in TESDSK) and im trying to install the BetterBodies v2.1 mod. But it turns bad ... everyone turn into a yellow wobbly thingy made of large !!'s (transparent u can see the original model/textures inside)

Donno if it a region thing (works on ntsc and not pal?).

Im running the game from hd, and ive tried both the renamed esm and esp files transferes to the z/data files dir (along with the meshes/textures dirs).

Other mods works fine tho so i guess i dont mess up when i do the TESDSK conversion. Is this mod supposed to go into the games dir or replace some files in the original?

Any info would be great.   :) <

I'm 98% sure can tell you what the problem your having is:
Your not placing the mod files into the Data Files properly.
I know that you put the meshes and the textures and anything else that's right
however there is something really small that you may not think has anything thing to do with it but I can guarentee you this what is wrong

1. In the Meshes folder you have a bunch of NIF files
2. In the Textures folder you have a bunch of dds files

Ok they are in the right place so now your asking yourself then how in the world can they be placed in those folders improperly.
____________________________________________________________________
Well this is what you need to do

Create a folder labled bb and place that folder into the Meshes folder
Create a second folder labled bb and place that into the Textures folder

Take all the loose NIF files that pertain to the Better Bodies Mod and place them in to the bb folder that you placed in the Meshes folder

Then take all the Loose dds files that pertain to the Better Bodies Mod and place those into the the bb folder that you placed in the Textures folder
____________________________________________________________________

It is highly important that you pay attention to any mod that comes with letter labled folders in any catagory not all letters are the same (I found one labled i and x) But regardlss if you have a letter in a section and the files are in the lettered folder then just leave it alone and place the lettered folder into the specified directory.
Now on occasion you will run into someone who doesn't place this stuff in a labbled folder I'm telling right now that you will want/need to check the read me for installation because I have had to create lettered folders because they weren't included when I unzipped the mod.

In most cases you will notice that the lettered folder is the same as the first letter in the mod or related to the mod for example:
Better Boddies
Both file types (NIF and dds) were placed into a lettered folder labled bb
bb=Better Bodies.

Now I'm not sure if is case semsitive or not but to be on the safe side keep the lettered folders the same as how you got them and if you need to make your own follow the readme or copy it according to the beginning letters on the modded file.

Well I hope this helps you out
let me know

I got it to work  :D thanks

I needed to copy some files from a subdir (sub-sub-subdir actually) into the main bb/meshes and textures dir. Didnt find anything on this at the site or in the "readme"... odd.. then again its probably just me.

But now it works (thank God!).

Edit: Guess what happened next... temp drive Z changed to X and all my mod vanished   Good thing I made a backup then  ;)

AS WITH ANY GUIDE/TUTORIAL I WRITE OF THIS NATURE
MY WARNING TO PEOPLE IS THIS:
ALWAYS MAKE A BACK UP OF EVERYTHING EVEN IF IT DOESN'T SEEM OR YOU DON'T HINK IT IS IMPORTANT.
IF YOU DON'T MAKE BACK UP AND SOMETHING HAPPENS THEN IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT.
YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE ON THIS......YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!

or something like it is the very first thing you see in any guide I write

I've been hearing a lot about these mods... Would any one like to fill me in? I play Morrowind on the Xbox, so I don't know anything about modding.  <_< <

Ok Here is what this whole mod thing is about:
Someone found a way to convert computer mods so that they can be used on the x-box. However you need a modded system and are able to FTP files to and from your x-box to do so. and not all mods will work

They don't really need to be converted, but due to the Xbox's limited memory, and different features, not all mods will work.  Luckily though some of the best ones do though! (Better bodies, better heads)

The "conversion" process in a nutshell (same as on PC actually):
copy the folder in the meshes folder in the zip to the Data Files\Meshes folder.
copy the folder in the textures folder in the zip to the Data Files\Textures folder.
put the esm file  in the Data Files folder.

You also don't necessarily need a modded system.  If you use the MechAssault save to FTP into your xbox after Morrowind has been run, you can copy mods straight to the Data Files folder on a cache partition (the X, Y, or Z folders).  Then, reboot and pop in your Morrowind DVD and enjoy playing with the mods!  If you don't like em, either wipe the cache folder via FTP or play a few other games, which will eventually write over the cache morrowind used, and it will regenerate the original files from scratch next time you play.

Anyways, the above two mods will make your base Morrowind look much better and as such are recommended, but there are plenty others.  There are also Xbox compatibility listings for mods (search the forum). <

I was using the word conversion like this:
Updating a mod and making it compatible with thh x-box version

I just thought it would be easier to use on word instead of a whole sentence

Sorry for the confusion.
