If you have a RROD 360 that isn't under warranty then the best thing to do is part it out or sell it as a single faulty unit on eBay. Use the money you make towards buying a new Arcade. There's no permanent fix for the 3  red lights of death. Don't bother wasting your time and money trying to repair it, it will fail again.

best advice i have read in a while - although i would like to believe that these newer kits will perform better than the original.  still nothing beats a newer redesign of the mobo.  personally, when i finally got the RROD on my March 06 console 2 months ago, i ran to walmart and picked up the RE5 elite edition and towel-wrapped my original. it has actually worked since but i only watched a movie on it and haven't booted it since...

Garbage, its is just a band aid if it works... I use a BGA Rework Station and do the reflow on the chips, put fresh Artic Silver and replace the X Clamps on Most(but not needed on all), better cooling and the consoles have a WAY lower return rate.

I wouldn't waste your money...

Those test results are crap. This info just tells us they are lying to make profit.

You guys smell that? Smells like more Team Xecuter bullshit, After the first Xbox was discontinued they're trying their damndest to make a profit because they can no longer get modchips sold.. so.. they result to overpriced bs "pro" kits which are made up of the same shit you can buy in a store for 5 bucks. Like every other product in the world your not buying the product you are buying the name, Xecuter can slap the name on a pile of dogshit and get someone to buy it for 29.99 lol

I will no longer EVER buy Xecuter due the the fact I bought a CK3 and it was broken. I talked to the seller (Mr.modchips) and Xecuter and they both gave me the finger with blood on the end (dunno whos blood)

I was experiencing this problem with alot of others. Bought Maximus and worked right out of the box.

Oh yeah this has to do with a solid green light on the probe at all times. Not plugging in the power the wrong way.

I hope you rot Xecuter, and I hope this recession takes your company with it.

The Australian Xecuter is NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

I ordered a chip for the original Xbox and it never arrive.  After numerous complants to them via emails (that is why they don't list a phone contact number or address just a PO Box) they stopped corresponding and I lost my money.

It reflects how dishonest Xecuter are everywhere in the world.  This further reinforces it.

I no longer buy Xecuter products and find alternative chips and stuff better and cheaper and MORE TRUSTWORHTY  smile.gif

After bench testing for 7 days

Doing the 'towel trick' would give you 7 days out of a console - this proves nothing.

I have to agree with others here- aside from reballing the GPU and CPU (and memory if needed), the only fix is to buy another 360.

Listen to this dude!

He is completely right ! They say 30 bucks for their kit ?? In my country reballing costs about 40euro, so whats the deal ??

i have 2 consoles, nearly done every fix on the net for them ... and what ? average 'fix-last-time' was 10days !

Now both of them reballed, work like a harm ! Don't listen to bullcrap like standoffs, and xclamps etc etc. because it isn't causing the problem at all. (of course they help console a little to break)

Reball gpu, put one metal washer on the bottom, on the original xclamps locks, and replace plastic pin in the centre of orig x-clamp with a ram pad, and there u go !

Your xbox won't break again, i ensure you!

cheers

I'm not going to waste my money on this. I'm already convinced that team HYBRID's fix is way better.

XS Filter - 043008s.com

You can buy the kit if you're a bit lazy for $10, and i bet that Xecuter will put a much higher price tag on their product.

if 7 xboxes out of 100 are not fixed or broke again after this fix it's obviously not good enough (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I can't believe somebody at Xecuter has wrote that, read it over and thought "yeah that'll convince them"!  blink.gif

Anybody in the know realise what the problems are by now so surely this will only be purchased by people who haven't really got a clue.  True fix...
£130 Jasper - DONE (I've added the extraheat sink fans from my last Falcon but considering removing them as its obviously cooler air from back of console  biggrin.gif )

Tho I do understand any company trying to make a buck.  I won't buy this or recommend it but if they have a product in the future that IS worth it then sure why not

I guess i'm the only one that bought a RROD kit from them and it has worked for months now. I have no problems what-so-ever. Everybody seems to dislike their products but so far, it's worked flawlessly and only cost me like $10...so yeah, I disagree with about everybody's statements here.

The real question should be, how long did those boxes work after the fix.  I've fixed consoles before using clamps but they always RROD a couple of months later with no way to bring them back.

All of these are just temp fixes,Xecuter/X-Clamp and such.

The only permanent solution is to get a reball, the lead free solder in the 360's are a cause for alot of the problems.Use real solder to reball than your 360 will last.

But buying a cheap jasper is the best thing to do in my opinion.
