If there's a broken gear, you'd have to take the 360 case apart (which would instantly void your warranty) in order to fix it. If you'd like to sell it, or even have somebody repair it for a lesser fee, you can post in the Xbox 360 BST section.

If you do take apart the 360, post pictures of the inside of the dvd drive and you'll most likely find some help.

english plz im new to all this stuff

If you buy another drive identical as yours, say off ebay or some other store, you can pull the board off the bottom of yours and put replace the one on the new drive you get with your board. The pass key is stored in a chip on the board so it will work as if it were your original  drive

And so long as your warranty is gone, would you mind posting a pic of what exactly is broke on the drive itself. Should only be 4 small phillips screws to get into it.

Ok, so it looks like you've got a Toshiba Samsung drive. Open the 360 case and look for the firmware version on the dvd drive. It'll be the bottom sticker and will look like either:

F/W=ms25 or F/W=ms28

Then buy that same make [Toshiba Samsung] and model [ms25 or ms28] and put the green PCB board from your drive into the new one.

Then you're good to go!

Don't worry about FW version, since your gonna swap the pcb's anyway.
